April Monthly Update

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We have much gratitude for the news this month addressing overdue social justice awakening and affirming our commitment to addressing disparities and inequities through research. It is a critical time to be a scientist and implementer.

In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we hosted a panel showcasing a variety of programs at RTI International that address sexual assault in the criminal justice system, U.S. Military, and among adolescent girls and young women in South Africa. You can also read our latest blog on research on sexual assault in the military here.

We are also excited to kick off this year's WomenNC Commission on the Status of Women Scholar Program! Interviews for this year's cohort of scholars are complete and we will announce them next week. We have also opened registration for our 13th InWomen’s Conference, see below or contact me or bhoward@rti.org if you want to know more.

As COVID-19 vaccine rollouts continue around the world, I hope that you and your loved ones are able to get vaccinated and begin to normalize a little within your families or bubble of friends.

In health,
Dr. Wendee
