Dr. Darigg Brown is a behavioral scientist and program manager with nearly 15 years of experience in program evaluation and behavioral outcomes research focusing on substance abuse prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention, mental health, positive youth development and promoting health equity. His expertise in these areas includes using qualitative methods to conduct community-level evaluations on program effectiveness, capacity building, and the provision of training and technical assistance.

Dr. Brown has worked with foundations, community-based organizations, and local governments, and has provided content-specific expertise on federally funded projects from the CDC and SAMHSA. Dr. Brown currently leads the evaluation of the Prevention Matters initiative to help Marion County (IN) schools identify, implement, and sustain proven substance use prevention programs that equip students with skills to help them avoid drugs and alcohol and improve their academic achievement and social and emotional well-being. He also leads a project to provide prevention data support for the Georgia Strategic Prevention System Data Warehouse, and he co-leads the evaluation of a statewide initiative to address underage alcohol use, binge drinking, and other substance abuse issues among Georgia residents through community partnerships and the implementation of evidence-based individual and environmental strategies. Previously, Dr. Brown led a comprehensive Social Indicator Study that examined substance abuse and behavioral health trends across Georgia to inform county-level needs assessments and prevention planning.
