Interventions and Prevention Programs

Supporting programs that influence health and well-being

To empower people to make healthier and safer decisions, you need to know what works, for whom and when—and then implement it.

If you deliver behavior-change programs that include parenting practices, substance use, gender-based violence, and risky sexual behaviors, we can help. With a special emphasis on women and nonconforming-gender individuals, we design and implement evidence-based interventions that improve health and well-being.

For example, to help one of our clients reduce the incidence of HIV in at-risk populations in South Africa, we developed gender-focused interventions that reduced substance use and sexual risk behaviors. In another example, to stop the spread of Zika virus among pregnant women in Puerto Rico, we produced research-based public health communication campaigns.

To build healthy-living skills, influence attitudes, and modify behaviors—in culturally-appropriate and non-stigmatizing ways—consider engaging with the RTI Global Gender Center.
