Why you should attend: InWomen’s is the only conference that addresses all aspects of substance use among women, children, and youth with respect to gender differences. We are a one of a kind multidisciplinary group that offers collaborative networking, cultural events, and sharing of the latest science in substance use and gender from around the world. Join us for our 14th meeting, as we return in-person, and offer a hybrid option to attend main sessions, in Minneapolis, MN on Friday, June 10, 2022! This year’s meeting will welcome experts in the field of substance use research and gender across four unique panel sessions on I) Women’s Intersectional Burden: Substance Use, Stigma, Criminal Justice, and Drug Trafficking; II) Current State of Substance Use Treatment and Prevention Gender-focused Interventions: Globally and in the U.S.; III) Why it Matters: Understanding the Implications of Using Drugs While Pregnant; and IV) Sisterhood, Survival and Recovery: From Support Groups to Provider-based Trainings. Researchers, students, policy makers, and program officials will also share their research via poster sessions, a local activist and medical student will present inspirational intersectional poetry, and so much more!
